Summer Learning Journey Day 2, Week 1

Activity 1 Flying Solo
Jean Batten was the first person to fly from England to New Zealand in one flight solo
Both: They are both solo pilots
Amelia Earhart (American) was the first female pilot to cross the atlantic ocean and attempted to cross the world but got lost in between Australia and Hawaii mid flight

Hi Kalani, I really like the information you've gathered perhaps you could use the template in the activity to make a venn diagram to create the post about two awesome aviators - do you want to be a pilot when you leave school, or maybe a flight engineer? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

    I can tell you put a lot of effort into this activity. I'm really impressed! The facts are awesome.

    Have you made a venn diagram before? You should try it out! It's amazing seeing the similarities and differences between these two great, inspiring woman. How awesome is it that Jean Batten was the first person EVER to fly solo from England to New Zealand? How long do you think that would have taken Jean to fly all that distance?

    Next time you could add an image of the two different aviators (pilots)? Vintage photos are always fun to look at.

    I wonder what it would feel like to fly a plane. If you had the opportunity, would you give it a go?
